Admitted Hospital - Again??!!

I don't know why, but, it seem that my kids are so prone to be admitted to hospital, which of course, I bet non of parents love their kids being admitted, right?

And, this time, it is Iz, my lil darling turn. It all happens so quick and fast, and I really can't think well as well......

It all started on Sat evening, when Iz suddenly got fever, and every 4 hours, need to be given medication, till Sunday evening, around 5pm, suddenly, his temperature shoot up to 40 something, and the worst part, he got Febrile Fit!!!

And, I really panic as I didn't prepare for it and never know how to handle this kind of situation...after giving some suppository to Iz, immediately I bring Iz to go see child specialist(Dr.Ting - first time seeing him as Iz usual child specialist is not open on Sunday evening). Worst of all, this child specialist is really 'BLOOD SUCKING'.......

Imagine, I'm worried and panic of Iz situation, he didn't help to ease my worry instead 'threaten' me that if Iz is not admitted, if happen another round of high fever and fit, it might damage Iz brain even more. He didn't even checked on Iz, and immediately insert drip and ask me to wait outside his clinic room to wait for him to see other patients and after 1 hour, 'slap' me with RM 300 fee!!!

Sleep well after medication and drip...

For me, as long as Iz is ok and fine, I really have no problem of admitting him for further monitoring, but, not with that kind of attitude from child specialist - without proper check and some explanation!!! I'm just wonder, where goes his medical ettique of treating patient with care!

Some of Iz's favorite toys to entertain him - Thomas & Friends...

Even staying in hospital, doesn't bring me satisfaction as well. Admitted on Sunday night, and when he came to see me around 10pm (bear in mind the time), he show me all the blood tests - to confirm that Iz has no problem at all......no deficit in blood glucose, no lack of calcium, etc....which might cause febrile fit and can't give me good excuse of why Iz got febrile fit(even myself know what is the reason).

And, on Monday morning, Iz is back to normal - happy and active and complaining that he want to go home and play with kor kor....when I ask Dr.Ting, he unhappily told me, he prefer to monitor Iz for 24 hour before give him OK sign to go home, and add some 'sarcastic' comment: "If he is fit to go home, I will definitely let him go home. I won't even force him to stay extra longer here at all" and left!!

Insert the needle for drip...

Imagine, how rude of him acting as child specialist..And, on Monday night, when he came visit, , he came around 10.30pm!!! And, Iz and myself already fall asleep. When he came in, he say "So fast asleep already?" Like no so happy tone of not waiting for him. I like, 'Huh, Hallo? What is the time already? Even my next door patient also fall asleep, imagine me taking care of cranking Iz.......

When I asked Dr.Ting again, whether Iz can go home the next day (Tuesday), guess what he reply, "I prefer to let Iz stay for another one more day to monitor him again".......And, when he see my unhappiness, immediately he add on "Tomorrow morning, we just see how" and left again.

On Tuesday morning, I packed all Iz stuff and waiting to be discharge, and when he came, he really not happy and saying "I really have no reason to hold him back if you really want to be discharge"........

See, how cheerful Iz is....it really melt my heart to see he has to suffer this...

Luckily, now, Iz is well and ok, except the body is still weak......I tell myself that I really won't go back to this child specialist anymore no matter how......

i heard abt this lousy dr long time ago. glad that Iz is well now, Gold bless him. if he has a fit, quickly put a spoon in between his teeth to avoid him from biting his tongue. thats waht my mom did to me when i was young.
i didnt know thid dr ting was in a hosp. thot he only has a clinic. next time dont go search for child specialist lor, straight away send him to hosp!
take care, now both mommy and child must rest more edi.

Fit can be scarry. You better keep some fever suppository at home. It brings down fever very fast.

What's his full name? DO let us know so that we will not kena from this dr. He sounds really money-minded!
When your kid is having high fever, the best thing is to strip him and sponge him head down.... and also to give a suppository (make sure the quantity given is according to his weight). That's what the nurses did to my 2 mo bb when she was admitted for UTI and had high fever.... sponged at 4am in an air cond room!

HealthFreakMommy: Dr.Ting Sing Hung, and he has his own clinic in Klang as well under Mary Hew...so, watch out.....You must be heartache when the nurse sponge your darling like that huh? It happen so fast, that I really have no time to sponge Isaac, as his temperature just shoot up....

Babysmooches: I fully agree with you....I just wish it won't happen again :)

Glad to see Iz has recovered. Your post makes me relive what happened to Ryan when he was younger. I had nightmares of going to hospital. He had a total of 4 admissions by the time he was 4.

Hi, I had the same experience last week. My son got fever on Sunday evening, Dr. Chan didn’t open on Sunday evening, so we bring my son to the same doctor as you -- Dr Ting in Puchong. He charges me RM208 for some fever and cough medicine. I was wonder why so expensive so I go back to get the receipt on Wednesday with different nurse. The receipt the nurse gave me is RM130, and she told me that was the amount doctor charged. So the extra money went to the nurse who working on Sunday own pocket. Luckily I paid with credit card so I got the prove to get back the money. I think that’s 2 nurse ‘eating’ the money. So maybe you can ask the doctor again about the amount his charged.

I also have once bad experience with this doctor, we went to his clinic last Hari Raya, he charged double consultancy fee (rm85.00) and without detail checking prescribed a log of non-sense medications for my kid. The bill came up to be rm600+, I refuse to pay for all the medications, asked him how he expect a young girl to take so many medications, he insisted must take all, cannot reduce any of it. He claimed that my baby got Asthma. So ended up I only pay for the consultation & that weekend we went to SJMC (Dr Khoo), my baby got no sign of Asthma, just coughing & minor sinuous, cured in 3 days after taking the medications (cost me rm200+ only). I would never go back to that Dr. Ting again, and asked my friend to beware of this doctor.

Same case Dr Chan not open on Public Holiday so we went to Dr Ting at Puchong, my son was admitted straight away, the needle for drip was attached straight away at the clinic itself... and he will only come at night at 10:30pm u can't even go to sleep and kid already sleep. We also thought that we can discharge the next day but cannot... then the next day then cannot again then till the 3rd day i insist i want to discharge to see my own paed. My son is absolutely ok. Pls all dad and mum pls be careful of this doc.

Pls...pls...take alert...Don't ever go to this clinic.I also faced the same experience too.My elder daughter admitted to hospital for 4 days and he always don't let us to discharge from hospital. He also gave 7 medicines to my 4 month's old baby last week. Luckily I only let my baby consume the fever medicine and the next morning I sent my baby to see the padiatrician, Dr.Lim at Sunway medical Centre.Dr.Lim only pass to me 2 medicine and my baby cured after few days.

Is the Dr. Ting has a clinic in puchong Jay ? We went to see him and he also asking my son to admit to hospital and he only 2 years. Worse is he very rude and made us so worry. Lucky we didn't take his advise because we felt that the way to talk is too rude and so unfriendly.

Hi Everyone... this happened to me also. few years back my daughter was having high fever and I brought her to this blood sucking doctor. He scared us with H1N1 and nimonia etc. and forced us to stay in Columbia Assia Puchong for 5 days.. and the bill was around 6K !!!!!! Not only he sucks our money.... he simply diagnose H1N1 and nimonia as he wish... and give high doses of antibiotics and other medications to my baby... the fufth day i request my baby to be discharged... Parents.. pls avoid this clinic at any cost... I think in emergency cases or at night just go straight to SJMC or Columbia Asia straight instead of going through this blood sucking monster. PLEASE BEWARE OF THIS DR.TING BLOOD SUCKING LEECH !!!!!!

My son also kena before and at that time he is less than one years old. We stay there for 2 1/2 day , At the end I insist to discharge at my own risk. Change another doc medicine, just one day, no more fever.
