"Good Husband"

I just remember that Tot's mom did write about this topic few days back in her blog....

Why I use this title as well is because it caught my attention when my ex-colleague send me an email.

I know Ellen when I join this company back in 2001, when I went to my HQ in Europe for a training. From there, we start develop into friendship beside being a colleague, and she indeed help me out a lot at initial stage.

And, after 2 years, she came to M'sia together with her husband, which so coincidence become my boss(now ex-boss). And, our relationship grow even deeper, where when both husband and wife on business trip, I will take care of their kids, etc....till they have hired a Filipino maid to assist them. And, they just went back to their country 1 year ago.

Recently, I received a shock email from Ellen. She told me that she got breast cancer on her right breast. And, today, she will undergo a surgery to remove the tumor, and not whole breast, which is a relieve to her. After the surgery, she will undergo few session of chemotherapy, etc...and she will be on long medical leave before she officially went back to work again.

It is really a heartache for me to know about it. I really feel so sad and down, cause all I could do is pray for her wellness and couldn't be by her side.....but, luckily, for her, she has full support from her husband. He cancel all his business trip just to be with his wife (well, I really salute him).

Even though she has to accept the fact, but, she still can make joke out of it. I asked her, how she manage to detect that she has a breast cancer....Here is her answer: "Not me who detect it. It is my husband. He found it out and then, we undergo biospy to confirm it. YOU need to have a GOOD HUSBAND!!"

Anyway, I really do wish she will recover fast and back to normal life again.....And, I guess life is so unpredictable. What I will do from now is try to eat balance meal and have healthy lifestyle...It is really easy to say but, hard to implement unless I have the determination to do it.

A Big Helper

Jona always love to give me surprise.....

On Friday night, I told my boys that if they sleep early and wake up early in the morning, finished their milk, then, I will bring them to play at playground near my house which they love it so much....since grandma went back, they seldom went to playground due to time constraint.

My fault as well.....both of them wake up around 7am!!! Really so early till I don't have a nice sleep....mmmm....anyway, both finished their milk and, Iz start calling "Momi, go playground", "Go playground, kick a ball".....while Jona keep watching tv non stop.

It is only 8am, and the sun is not really rise yet, plus the weather show like it is going to rain, so, I keep delaying Iz. Around 8.30am, Iz started to be impatient and started to disturb me doing housework, as well as disturbing Jona, and finally I give up.

I pass 1 set of t-shirt and pant to Jona and 1 set to Iz, asking Jona to get change and we can go playground. While I'm in the kitchen filling their tumble with water, I told Jona "If you have finish change, would you mind helping Iz?" Actually, I just ask for fun cause I know he won't do it(never help me out)....Who know, he reply "ok, ok, I will help Iz change, you no worry, ok?"

And, when I came out, and faster grab my phone camera, this is what I manage to snap....He already took off the pyjamas for Iz, and put on Iz shirt and pant......He is such a good boy (sometimes!!) and I just could feel that he is a big boy now(time flies so fast), which I could rely on him to take care of Iz in future ;P

A sweet pose by my boys before off to playground......yippeee!!!

No peace of mind

I'm always wondering why other kids so obedient when they are shopping with their parents but not my 2 rascals. Do their parents warned them to behave themselves in shopping mall in advance before leave home, or what methods did they use to control their kids?

Jona & Iz always being so playful, I could conclude when they are out from their comfort home. Can't really sit properly during meal time or when mommy or daddy busy shopping(looking around).

The only way, I could control them at the moment is: tight both of them in their own strollers, meaning I bring 2 strollers out everytimes, I bring them for a shopping.

Last weekend, I bring them to a furniture shop, cause we intend to purchase new mattress for my boys. We already got 1 single mattress from Geetha, and find it is really comfortable to sleep on...

While Dadi busy looking around, testing it with sale person, Momi has to chase them, shouting at them - 'don't climb on the mattress', 'your shoe is dirty', 'don't climb on sofa', etc.....just exactly like a crazy woman or mad woman, and I do really pissed off sometimes to manage them...wondering why should I suffered like this since I can't bring stroller into furniture mall....

At last, I just don't care, and this is what I did to my boys to control them for a while:-

Their 'tut tut' train....

Iz showing off his 'tut tut train'

Jona busy playing with his 'tut tut train'
Both at separate corner

By just pretending it is my 'home'....They just enjoy playing with their tut tut train on the coffee table(demo set which the shop intend to sale) which they bring together with them....and, I separate both of them - each one at one corner to prevent them from fighting when one cross another border line.....

Even though the sale lady or other customers keep looking at me with one kind of look, or smiling at my kids seeing their reaction of playing their toys, I just don't bother anymore...as long as they give me a peace of mind for a while, I'm really happy liao. At least, Dadi, can look at the pricing in more details without worry have to pay out of sudden for broken stuff.

**aiyah** Being a parent is really not easy, I just have to come out with good solution, at different time.

It is easy for you to control your kids when you go shopping?

Angpow collection

My mom started to have this hobby since my dad passed away in 2000. I guess it is to fill in her free time beside sewing quilt/blanket using recycle clothes......

Esp. these past few years, I have been helping my mom to increase her collection. The angpows can come from as far as Taiwan, HongKong, Singapore, of course, the most still from local.....and her collection also expanded to 'green packet' - during Hari Raya as well as 'Deepavali Packet'.....

Imagine, when I went to do my weekly marketing at Tesco: "Got Raya packet or Deepavali packet or not?" at the customer service counter...and guess what their reaction toward me....They will look at me at one kind from head to toe...like I don't look like Malay or Indian to celebrate the festival or to be entitled for green packet??

Too bad, I'm not able to snap some photo of her 'photo album' where she put all her angpows packet in 4R album(She carries it everywhere she go. She seem to be proud of it). It is really nice and wonderful to see through the album.....and she is really creative enough to collect at least 2 pieces of each pattern - who know, the front and the back angpow packet is link to become a picture(can't imagine ler).....

And, since a week plus, I have started shopping around and started asking customer counter, whether got angpows packet to be given away or how much I need to purchase before I could get the angpow - only for my mom!! But, this year, I guess, due to my busy schedule of work/travelling, I might couldn't achieve my target on 'angpow collection' :(.

I guess when I getting old, I don't wish to inherit my mom hobby....he,he..really not easy at all, and I did see some of my mom friend who turn to be nasty just to have that type of collection/packet......It is just a hobby, I think but, I'm not sure what they thinking...some of them, after exchange with my mom for 'free', but, at the back, sell it to other people to earn some money!! So bad hor.....

Everytimes, when I shop at MidValley esp toward CNY, I always think of Leoni - back in 2004 I guess, when MidValley is shortage of angpow packet to be given away, and ask customer to come back to redeem it...and luckily, Leoni(my wonderful friend), got several packet, and volunteer, mail a packet to me...."Thank U so much, Leoni. You really make my life easier and also make my mom so happy with that angpow packet!! I really appreciate your sincere help"....

So, mommies, if you do have this hobby of collecting angpows, would you like to exchange it with my mom - to expand her/your collection? Or, after your kids get the angpow, and wanted to throw it away, would you mind to give it to my mom?

At the end, I just want to make my mom happy :) Mind helping me out??

Travel: Merlion City

Yup...tomorrow will be my first travelling trip for this year after resting for a month without travelling. Anyway, the feeling is good, you know why:-

This year, I wish and hope (what my boss promise me), that, I will be travelling less since he has just hired 2 new staffs to help me out. In another word, both of them will travel more, and I just manage or monitor them......Sound good hor....guess, too good to be true :p

But, again, of course, I still need to travel some times, which I have no problem at all, just not too frequent like last year. Anyway, still need to travel a lot before the 2 new staffs can really be 'throw' to the field.....

Just see how, Singapore, I'm coming, but, not sure where to shop or buy ler...cause nothing in my mind and both boys didn't request to have anything from this trip.

I change my strategy of not asking them anymore what they want from my trip, instead:

Momi: Iz, tomorrow momi outstation, can ar?
Iz: cannot....
Momi: Why cannot?
Iz: because Iz will miss momi (my heart feel bad)
Momi: but, Iz got Dadi and Kor Kor at home mah
Iz: Cannot...Iz will cry, ask for momi....."Momi, Momi"...
Jona: But, you got kor kor and dadi at home mah

Tag: New Year Tradition

I got this nice tag from Ling.....he,he..I guess what she want to know from me whether I do have Chinese New Year Tradition? If for New Year Tradition(western new year), sorry wor...I don't have one.

Here goes:What are some of your new year’s good luck traditions?
Rules : Copy the person and persons’ names that sent it to you and add your own at the bottom of the list. It really helps to build community.Lets start it here!

*My mom used to collect some coins and when the new year comes she put the coins in a bowl and shake it to create sounds. She said its good luck for money throughout the year. And also wearing dotted dresses on new year don’t know why. CC/chalyza/keep
*My old folks always told us to avoid spending money on new years day. They said, once you spend on the first day of the year, you like to spend the rest of the year.Behind d Scenes of ME/ Retchel’s Pure Life/ /A little bit of me
*I grew up believing that if you have some money on your pocket (whatever you’re wearing) come New Year’s eve it will ensure steady flow of income throughout the year. The other belief is that the main door of the house should be wide open come New Year’s eve so that good luck will be ushered in. Juliana of MY WORLD and JULIANA’S LAIR.
*I don't have any traditionals during New Year. Juliana RW*
I have keep a RM50 note which the serial number is begin with number 8 and end up with number 8 also, between the number, it’s not encourage to have number 4 and number 0. By doing this we will have steady income throughout the whole life. It’s not easy to find such note. Another ways is to keep your “Ang Pao” in your pocket or put it inside your pillow on the New Year eve before you sleep. Hazel
*There are many beliefs but I don’t really follow. To me, to gain good luck, we must radiate positive thoughts and be happy always. (The law of attraction) Jo-N
*If this tag means Chinese New Year tradition, usually I do spring cleaning before Chinese New Year. I will pack those unwanted stuffs like clothes to give away and make sure that our home is spick and span to receive a new year. I think this should be the norm for Chinese :) Ling
*Settle all my debts with family member, so, I will be free from debts throughout the year. Don't sweep floor on first day of CNY (so, I won't be sweep my money away - good excuse of not sweep floor on CNY :) ) Mamajo

And, I would like to hear from Chanel and Chinnee and Wen about their New Year tradition, so, who know, I can apply it if it make sense.......

Luckily it is a Digital Camera

Jona is getting good in taking photo using my phone camera/digital camera. Previously, he practise using our old digital camera with pixel around 3.0, but, seem no one bother to recharge the battery, so, it is always out of battery....which I guess that's why it is irriate him so much of not using it anymore.....it is still our only camera at the moment.

He even wanted to snap photo of our old neighbour one day, by climbing on our fence with one hand and another hand hold the camera(which too bad, is belong to aunty Carol), and imagine 4 yrs old boy doing it. Of course, the camera drop and broken, and need to be send to fix which cost RM 150!!!

And, he only got warning by all of us of 'taking' our camera without our permission. Why not scold him....cause he tell a truth - that he try to snap photo of uncle and the camera drop, the proof - old uncle photo is inside the camera !!! kah,kah....

One afternoon, before he take his nap, he took my phone camera without my permission(not sure because I was sleeping or what, but, after above incident, he never simply took our camera anymore. Maybe, he realise he make a big mistake)...How come I know? Ha,ha...I check my camera photo folder one day, and saw this pictures.....so cute hor......

He said, his mouse is playing around, and then, his mouse is upside down......He took other pictures too, but, this shocked me....

He take my photo while I 'steal' some time to take a quick nap - too tired mah after do all those housework(not full asleep, cause every 1 or 2 mins I will see what he is doing...but, this picture, I really didn't aware at all when he snap it....

Aiyah....next time, I need to be more careful liao.....who know, what picture he will take in future...kah,kah....luckily, it is a phone camera(digital) and I can delete it anytimes....imagine it is film camera, wow....only after send the film for printing -> pay lots of money -> and see the 'outcome'......**paisei** ler....

Still wandering the dream of becoming SAHM....

Last 2 weeks plus, while try to clear my annual leave, I have temporary become a SAHM....and you know what, the feeling is so good as well as tiring....

During that period of time, I'm able to cook healthy food for my kids - breakfast(toasted bread, using egg + majerin to fried it. Try it, it is really taste nice, and hubby comment "very nice" and even my fussy Jona also love it!!), some snack like nugget as well as making home jellies for Iz. I do some cleaning house as well like washing 3 toilets (which I hate to do it - but too bad, no one in my house volunteer doing it, so, what to do....).

And, the tiring part is changing the fish tank....Fhuiiii, it is really not easy at all and I just realise it!! No wonder, no one love to have fish at home unless that person is fish lover....definitely not me....scoop the fish using fishing net also, I will scream like hell (my neighbour told I'm crazy)...feel so 'geli' with the fish.....but, the satisfaction I get is seeing the fish growing up, just like my babe.....

Shopping? So funny, during this period, I didn't do shopping at all except grocery shopping. I don't know why, maybe, no mom or sis accompany me, so, no fun gua.....but, at least, it is a good new for hubby, doesn't need to shake head see the monthly bill from credit card companies....kah,kah....

But, the best part of this, suddenly, on my last day of leave, hubby propose to watch movie!!! He,he....after last movie - King Kong (imagine how long I didn't went to see movie with hubby ler).......of course, I'm happy.....but, seem we didn't watch movie for so long, suddenly opportunity came, doesn't know what movie to watch **bleak** . End up, watch Alien vs Predator......

I guess, after all the hardwork of maintaining the house clean throughout my holiday, actually try to impress hubby that I can become good SAHM, who know, he compliment me by bringing me watch movie.....aiyah...mission not successful!! And, back to work again.....

New Year Resolution

Each one has new year resolution when new year arrives.....and this year, I have several resolutions too....

Since I deliver Jona in 2003, I have always begging Dadi to enroll me for Marie France....he,he...you should know what that mean.....I have tummy fat, which I hate it!! But, I have to admit that I lose weight pretty fast...so, I didn't bother about it initially. But, after I deliver Iz, and till now, it seem my tummy fat is getting serious and it didn't go away that easily anymore..Of course lor, I never do any simple exercise at all...should blame myself for it.

Till I get these 'sacarstic' remark from stranger, colleague and my dear brother last year.

Stranger: One day, when I shopping around Garden, Mid-Valley, while playing with Iz and Jona at sofa in front of COACH shop, one Indian lady, smiling at me, and asking me 'Are you expecting a third baby?' while looking at my tummy. Me like, 'what??!!' , eh....Nicely I told her, nope....but, in my heart, I can feel a sharp knife stuck into my heart.

Colleague: 'Hey, why your tummy so big one?' 'You pregnant again huh?'.....

My bro: "My sis, you look so pretty and sexy in that dress"...."You are still attractive, you know"....."But, too bad, your tummy is too BIG and ugly"...."You should do something about it".....

From that moment, I know I need to do something about my dear tummy......so, new year resolution: Do daily sit up. At first, I keep asking Dadi to buy me a exercise mat, some equipment for doing sit up till suddenly hubby propose:

Dadi: "Hei, Momi, why want to spend extra money for nothing.....you got 2 cuttie beanies at home mah"
Momi: Where got?
Dadi: Jona and Iz lar, darling. Ask them to sit on your legs. As long as your legs didn't move too much, then, you can do sit up already mah.....right?
Momi: Ya hor, how come I didn't come to think of it.......

It has been 2 days, I do sit up with my boys(hope it is not temporary exercise :P).....and, I realise beside keeping my tummy flat again, at the same time, I do spend luxury moment with my boys...Jona is so happy to provide the help to me with some giggling, while Iz patiently wait for his turn...at the end, Jona also did some simple sit up with the help from lil Iz.....

You think my Momi can make it?? :P

Christmas performance

All the while, Jona is a shy and timid boy. He need someone to give him lot of confidence in doing something, and esp. if Iz is with him, he suddenly become aggresive boy. Even in playground, he will keep asking Iz to play with him, only he dare to play slider with tunnel or being so wild in action.

Last year, on Christmas day, while, me and Iz and Jona is busy settling down on our seat for Children Church performance, suddenly, Jona sunday school teacher approach Jona and bring him go to stage.

"Wow" is my expression when I see Jona being so independent, brave and confidence of himself on stage. He even dare to wave to me, before the performance started. It is perform by 4 years old class....No wonder, Jona keep singing a song - "Yuli, yuli, yuli.....follow by some action"....several weeks ago....

Jona really give me a surprise each times.....and he really prove to me that I'm always wrong when I think Jona is not capable of doing this and that, etc.....

Out of the 4 years old students, only Jona & Priscilla(the girl that stand next to Jona) is performing the dance...the other students just stand still without moving their hands or body at all.....

My Jona boy.....he is smart, I could said but, too mischievous at home...
I seem to get a lot of remark about Jona either at school/sunday school nowadays, that Jona is really a good & obedient boy...but, somehow, at home, he totally become another boy.....always cause Momi headache - lot of screaming come from my house...I just wonder why??

Expression by drawing Pt.1

Nowadays, Jona is really good in drawing. Of course, still not that good or excellent yet, but, overall, I already feel that he is good (in Momi's eyes)......might consider sending him to attend Art class for fun, so, he can express himself much better in drawing.

Last weekend, myself, Jona and Iz playing cutting butterfly shape from recycle paper (he learn from 'insect' book that his Uncle Teck bought for him). My duty is cut the butterfly for them, and their duty are colour it, and then paste it on balloon stick.

Everything went so well - both of them so happy till Jona suddenly grab Iz butterflies and it make Iz scream so hysterical, which I hate this situation. So, I give Jona a good scold and cane him as well for misbehave.

After a while, he ask me to cut another butterfly, and I fullfill his command. Within a minute, he came back and show me the butterfly. He said "This butterfly is so sad. See the mouth, and got a tear in his eyes - the butterfly is crying and sad because Momi beat Jona". And he just ran out from the playroom with the butterfly in his hands.

I really got shocked and in the same time, feel sad and happy as well. It seem that I have hurt him badly. I blame myself for being not able to control myself from canning him. I do apologise to him, and of course, he forgive me. You know, kid, one min he sad, one min he is happy again.

I'm happy because finally my Jona able to express his feeling through drawing.......I know it is one way to show his feeling, and it is good that I got to know his feeling through the drawing.
